The CTFAR model, created by Brooke Castillo, is a structure to help you when you are coaching your client.
When your client comes to you, whatever problem they present to you, you can define it as one of the five categories in the model. By showing them that all problems really boil down to thought problems, then you can coach a client very easily through any problem.
- Circumstances: things that happen in the world, facts.
- Thoughts: things that happen in your mind.
- Feelings: not physical sensations, but emotional feelings in your body.
- Actions: what we DO in the world.
- Results: what we see in the world, the effect of our action.
We have to be careful how we think, our life is shaped by our thoughts. By showing the deeper cause and effect sequences of a particular mindset we can help each other to get what we really need.
